The responsibilities of the Transart MPhil/PhD research student are to:

  • be open—please challenge yourself, your practice and expectations as an artist
  • set up and agree to a schedule of regular meetings with your advisory team
  • maintain timely and accurate records of advisory meetings and associated documentation
  • maintain a monthly Process Blog documenting your creative practice research for the Transart research community 
  • engage in PU training processes and provide required reports.
  • establish and participate in monthly online critique groups with your research community
  • make presentations of your research progress (including a synopsis) at every residency
  • ensure that your advisory team are aware of areas where specific training may be necessary
  • take initiative in clearly communicating problems and difficulties with your DoS
  • ensure that research content is your own work
  • take responsibility and be proactive in reaching your milestones (proposals, etc.)
  • include in your PhD proposal an appropriate format for the PU Viva Voce with your advisors
  • make the ultimate decision to submit your research with advisement from your DoS
  • nominate guest reviewers, prepare the public presentation/dissemination and talk for your last summer residency
