SAYWARD SCHOONMAKER (pronounced ‘Saird’ or ‘Say-erd’) comes from Plainfield, New York. She received an MFA from the Art Institute of Chicago in the Department of Fiber and Material Studies. Her artwork has been exhibited nationally and her writing has appeared in Elimae, The Common, and Bailiwick. Dancing Girl Press will publish her first chapbook, 3259, this July. Sayward’s interests and areas of inquiry include architecture and place, uncreative writing, quality pencils, friendship, assembling jigsaw puzzles, and bowling.
